IN A LIFETIME with ARETHA FRANKLIN

Leo’s series featuring and celebrating the music, life and times of the Queen Of Soul

Episode Four of Leo Green’s  “In A Lifetime – with Aretha Franklin” opens with a track from Aretha’s incredible 1968 album, “Aretha Now”.

1968 would see her release an amazing, three albums – we’ll hear about the album she recorded live in Paris and how the musicians she selected were different from the ones who accompanied her in the studio, as well as hearing how Aretha would change the arrangements of the songs, to create maximin excitement, for the live audience.

The following year, Aretha released an album of other people’s hits, “Soul 69”, from which Leo will take us through several wonderful tracks. We’ll also hear how, throughout Aretha’s childhood, the biggest names in Jazz, Gospel and Blues would drop in, to hang out and jam and how Aretha ended up joining in the ensuing jam sessions.
